Guest speakers include Mr. Jiri Sochor (DG SANTE, European Commission), who will summarise the current regulatory situation for processing aids in the EU and will touch upon the work on the guidance for safe use of processing aids (based on Codex guidelines CAC/GL 75-2010), Mr. Anders Liljegren (EU Specialty Food Ingredients), who will present the industry perspective on the regulatory environment for the use of processing aids in food manufacturing in the EU, and Mrs. Sonja Schulz (ZENK), who will focus on the legal concept of processing aids and the interpretation of the European Court of Justice. The presentations will be followed by a discussion session.
The workshop will be held at Italian Food and Drink Industry Federation, 1, avenue de la Joyeuse Entrée, 1040 Brussels from 10:30am to 1pm. The workshop will be followed by a lunch.

February 1st, 2017, Brussels - EFLA workshop on Country of Origin Labelling took place from 10h30 to 13h00 at the Italian Food and Drink Industry Federation in Brussels.
The workshop included an overview of the state of play on the question of origin (Mr. Peter Loosen, BLL), a closer look at national rules on origin labelling in France (Ms. Nicole Coutrelis, Coutrelis & Associés), Spain (Mr.Vicente Rodriguez-Fuenter, Legal Agrifood Abogados) and Italy (Mr. Ferdinando Albisinni, Università della Tuscia) and a presentation of the results of a survey on national COOL schemes, Poland (Ms. Joanna Krakowiak, Wardynski and Partners). The presentations were followed by a discussion session.
